Music therapist from Humansa, Carol Cheung, shared creative techniques to ease children’s separation anxiety at a recent parent workshop. She recommended composing and singing personalised songs with lyrics reflecting parents’ plans to temporarily leave, to help children understand goodbyes don’t have to be unpleasant.

A VPP alumnus and current VEO parent also joined to share her experiences helping her child adjust to kindergarten. Other parents openly discussed their own challenges and were reassured effective solutions exist.

Stay tuned for more insightful workshops ahead!

In our April theme, “People We See in Our World,” our PN/K1 Preparation class students, along with their parents, embarked on a fun trip to the dentist clinic!

Dressed in mini-white coats, our curious learners wanted to learn all about what happens at the dentist workplace! Not only did they tour around the clinic to take a look at the equipment and tools, but they also received brief dental check-ups from the skilled professionals and learned proper tooth brushing, while parents received dental care tips tailored for young children!

Such immersive, real-life experiences are invaluable for children’s development, shaping their understanding of health and wellbeing from an early age. Join us for more parent-child learning experiences in the future!

Under our April monthly theme “People We See in Our World”, an exclusive parent-child workshop was held at an ophthalmic clinic as an extended activity for our PN/K1 Preparation class students to explore the world of healthcare professionals.

Surrounded by a wide range of tools and equipment, our little learners observed doctors in their real-life workplaces, received a brief eye check by the professionals, and finally role-played as doctors using the equipment! Not only did the children have a blast, parents also received expert tips on ocular care for their children.

We are thrilled to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback from our parents! It was a unique learning experience for our little learners, with a perfect blend of fun and knowledge and a highlight of the importance of healthy eyes.
